Here's a pencil piece that I was working on recently. It is now deceased... An ink spill in the studio. I will, however, attempt it again as this was not even close to the finish.

Allen, You are a wizard with graphite. What is your surface on this portrait?. Death by ink spill. I'm sorry for your loss.

Oh noes! I was wondering about the surface too; is this pointillism? Some sort of scumbling? Or just the ground? It was lovely, at any rate...

You are incredible with your textures. Looking forward to seeing the redraw. Did you shed a tear when the ink spilled?

Its graphite powder scrubbed onto a140lb hotpress watercolor paper, with a leather chamois. there's some smoothing and pointilism involved to even out the value.

I didn't shed a tear but I shed every curseword that came to mind.

That is a serious bummer! I have had my fair share of accidents with ink and paint as well and found out that the resurrected piece (when finished)turns out to be better than the beginnings of the previous piece. I can't wait to see you resurrect this piece and see how it turns out.
