This blog, my blog has been quiet for a really long time, a year. I am going to be reactivating it and trying to stay on top of things.  I have had lots of project, pieces and personal things happen in the last year so not only will I be posting but Victoria will too. She keeps things straight around here and will get some information up here from time to time.  So, welcome back everyone!

"What rough beast..."

...have you ever had a dream that lingered through that twilight waking stage so that when you open your eyes in the dark of early morning you see it briefly as it fades to black? This was mine, yesterday morning at 5 am.

"What rough beast, its hour come 'round at last, slouches toward Bethlehem to be born?"

I've been waking up a 6 am am to work out. I usually run and then go to my little local gym. Its been fun and meditational, though chilly. One thing that I've noticed, and this happens consistantly, when running I'm constantly composing in my head(whether writing or images) and if I dont instantly write down my ideas I seem to forget them. Like you forget dreams when you wake up. But even if I forget them its only till the next time that I run. They pick up where they left off and continue. I've started using the voice recorder on my phone to take notes to myself. It seems to be working. I wonder if there's a study about endorphin levels and creativity...

...or maybe my mind is so delirious from exertion that my "self" is quiet enough to hear whats being whispered in my ear...

Here's a recently done piece called "The Enochian"...

Perhaps a Gaunt of some kind...

...and here's one of my variations of an Old One from In the Mountains of Madness (tho this one isn't from the movie concepts).

Here's a version of Keziah Mason, an astral witch from HPL's  Dreams in the Witch house...

The Cradle of Leng

Their society had begun to decay. The diversity of genetic evolution was failing them. In their desperation they assumed stewardship of their own biological destiny. They became their own makers not out of natural adaptation but as a result of their own terrible will. They were wretched and immortal. They were dire and full of fury, at creation, which had abandoned them and at nature, which despised their existence.

They worshipped gods that didn't exist so in their madness they created them.

The Cradle of Leng was the city of their birth. Leng was grown from the genetic remnants of a billion years of experimentation. It was alive, this city, and tortured. It was written on the walls of Leng that torture and pain give depth and strength to its foundation.

When the city was old and near it's own death they made way to give it rebirth through itself. They inseminated the city with the seeds of malformed gods of their own creation, filled with eons of existence and the seething chaos of the thoughts of long dead divinities. The city was tortured yet again with miscarriage and abortion time and time again until one day the seed held fast and began to grow.

...and here's the finished piece. It's 9"x12",graphite, acrylic and oil on Stillman & Birn 180lb Zeta Series multimedia paper...
