Here is a concept drawing for a personal project that is forthcoming...

A detail of a personal piece about a tree spirit that becomes attached to a paperdoll that was cut from paper made from a felled tree that he once knew...

This piece kinda shows the process I go through from sketchy to moderately rendered...

errr...if you cant tell the bottom edge is the sketchy part...;)

Wretched Offerings...full of demons....some of them are mine.

I have a few wretched offerings in this book, along with some truly unruly creatures. There's some real wicked art by some incredible artists...if you're into such you really do want this. Trust me.

An Alien creature(in progress-needs more feelers)...y'know that reminds me, people called me Alien in school: Alien:Allen...it was supposed to be a taunt back then but I dont think I mind so much now.

Just thought I'd mention that I'd be in LA for the next month for meetings and etc. I'll be hitting as many galleries and figure drawing groups as I'm able while there. Hopefully I'll get to post some cool photos...

Yes...the silver sheen is graphite, permanently ground into my shoes from the floor of my studio...lol

Drawing and Painting wips...

A drawing and a painting(w/detail) both wips...these are photos of the images without much color correction.

By the way, here is the finished piece...as well as it can be shot. Its layed graphite and matte medium.

Just a post showing process. I don't always work like this but it is fun: to focus on detail and construction without regards to composition. As illustrators we often design characters to fit harmoniously into their scenes and vice versa. Sometimes its fun to not...
